How to reach Kolymbari from key points in Crete

From Chania:

Kolymbari is around 23 kilometers west of Chania.

If you are driving, you’ll take the New National Road (E65) heading west from Chania towards Kissamos. After about 20 minutes, you’ll take the exit for Tavronitis and then follow the signs for Kolymbari.

Public transportation is also an option.

The Chania local bus service (KTEL) offers regular routes from Chania to Kolymbari. The journey takes about 40-45 minutes.

From Heraklion:

Heraklion is further east, and the drive to Kolymbari takes about 2-2.5 hours via the New National Road (E75 and then E65). Head west on the E75, then switch to the E65 at the junction near Chania and continue until you reach the exit for Tavronitis, after which you can follow signs to Kolymbari.

If you’re using public transportation from Heraklion, you can take a KTEL bus to Chania and then transfer to a bus heading to Kolymbari.

Please note that travel times can vary and it’s recommended to check the current bus schedules.

From Kissamos:

If you’re coming from the west of the island, Kolymbari is about a 20-minute drive east from Kissamos along the New National Road (E65). Simply follow the road east towards Chania, and take the exit for Kolymbari.

Remember to always check local traffic regulations and road conditions, and consider using a navigation system or map for guidance. If you choose public transportation, check the latest timetables as schedules may vary, especially between seasons.
